I attempted to make coiled coasters using paper the other day and failed miserably! (See the image below) I loved the colour combination and the amazing shapes created…BUT they are only half size of normal coasters and took me good 3 hours to make them. I just couldn’t continue this tedious journey knowing that no one would want to try making them.
So I decided to go with a lot easier option: Buying coasters and painting them! It takes less than 20 minutes to make them, very fun and easy process. These coasters are great for parties and make the perfect gift too! 🙂
What you need
– Cork coasters (I got 6 of them for $2.50 at a local two dollar shop)
– Masking tape
– Scissors
– Acrylic paint
– Paint brush
How to make it
1. Create patterns with masking tape.
2. Using a brush, apply a thin layer of acrylic paint. Make sure it’s evenly coated and add a few more layers if needed.
3. Let it dry
4. Remove the tape
6. Enjoy!
I’ve created free printable gift wrapping paper to continue my love for geometric shapes. Wrapping paper can be pricey, so why don’t you print your own to save money?
Simply download template and wrap however you like. Personal use only please. Enjoy wrapping!
I have been obsessed with geometric shapes thesedays, so I decided to do another geometric DIY. Don’t spend a lot of money to buy a clay necklace as you can make your own that costs a bunch less!
I was supposed to get oven bake clay but accidentally got air dry clay. I think bake clay is a bit softer and has smooth finish, also takes only 30 min for hardening, comes in different colours. Air dry clay did a good job for this DIY though, so the decision is yours:)
What you need
– Air dry clay (I’m using Das air dry clay) or bake clay
– Craft knife
– Nail polish
– Chains, jump rings, clasps
– Toothpick
How to make it
1. Knead the clay until it’s soft.
2. Roll the clay into small balls.
3. Cut the edges of the balls until you get the shapes you like.
4. Gently push the toothpick through the middle of the clay. Make sure you make a hole big enough for your chain to easily pass through.
5. Let the clay dry 24 hours.
6. Paint the clay with the nail polish. Try experimenting with different colour combinations and shapes.
7. Once the paint has dried, string them onto the necklace.
8. Enjoy!
I have always enjoyed crafting, I remember making endless things day in and day out with paper when I was in middle school. My creations were letters, envelopes, pencil cases, notepads, flowers and varieties of boxes. I believe my craft skills were defined by folding, cutting and experimenting with paper in general. Normal envelopes were boring to me, and STILL are, so I always made special envelopes matching the theme of the card or letter.
It’s been a while since I have made anything from paper, I really enjoyed this entire process from template design to completing these cards and envelopes.

I’m very excited to post this lovely project I’ve been wanting to do for some time. I saw a few DIY chalkboard projects using chalkboard paint, and I thought I wouldn’t be bothered with purchasing paint & brush then painting the object. Although I love painting, however when it comes to DIY; I want things to be done easily with as minimal effort as possible. So I did some research…then BOOM! I introduce to you the wonderful chalkboard spray paint, you will be surprised as to how easy something can be turned into a chalkboard.
What you need
– Chalkboard spray paint – Empty bottles / I used Little Creatures’ Pale ale bottles (Labels removed) – Chalk
How to make it
1. Remove the labels from the bottle. There are so many different ways to remove labels and if you have your preference, by all means go with it. My favourite way to remove the labels is to soak the bottle in the warm water for 5-10 min and rub the label off with a coarse side of a sponge. Once the bottle is completely dry, the fun begins!
2. Spray the bottle. Follow the instructions on the back of the spray. The paint was very opaque and dried quite fast, therefore only 2 coats were required.
3. Let it dry for 24 hours
4. Play with chalk!
5. Enjoy!
