I’ve been painting a lot of florals these days, they are the most beautiful things to paint. I’ve been playing with different colours and techniques in the last few weeks and finally I can see I’ve improved a bit after so many trials and errors! 🙂
I’m pretty happy that my hard work paid off, I guess I just have to keep painting!:)
Happy New Year!
The new year is here, which means it’s a perfect time to start fresh.
I have just set goals for this year, I feel like I can achieve anything if I’m always in this positive and happy mode:) I was able to relax completely during the break, I did yoga and meditation constantly practicing how to control my mind, trying to relieve the stress as much as I could.
I really want this year to be filled with happiness and success. No more doubting about my abilities and just pushing boundaries until I reach where I want to be. I hope all your wishes come true this year!
This A4 calendar was my personal holiday project, I repurposed some of my old watercolour paintings and painted new ones. Hope this will make you happy every time you look at it:)

Few months ago, I was asked by the talented wedding stylist Nadalie from Harper & Co to collaborate with her on a styled shoot. The brief was to capture the essence of spring “Love blooming amongst all the blossoming flowers”. I used watercolour to paint the beautiful flowers inspired by photos from Villa Parma and chose calligraphy styled titles to achieve that soft and elegant look. I had such a pleasant experience using a combination of watercolour and calligraphy, they are my favourite two things, and I’m sure I will explore more in the future.
Check out more photos from the shoot captured by the talented Kylee Yee on her site.

I hadn’t painted for some time and Jean Paul Gaultier’s exhibition fueled the urge for getting back into painting. It was truly breathtaking and quite possibly one of the best exhibitions I’ve ever seen.
“You are a true designer when people recognise your work without even looking at the label. This is the case for Jean Paul Gaultier.” – Pierre Cardin.
Above is my favourite quote from the exhibition. I believe it is every designer/artist’s dream to be recognised by their work. I’ve had a struggle to find my own colour in illustration for a long time adapting bits and pieces of style and technique of illustrators I admire. I know it’s going to be a long journey to get to where I’d like to be, and I am more than happy to share my evolving work with you:)
I’m obsessed with painting gems. They are so beautiful and watercolur is the perfect medium to illustrate their natural form and colour. I will keep experimenting painting different types of gems until I perfect my technique.
I’m going to the States tomorrow for a month, yay! So this is my last post till I come back.
I wanted to paint something special on my birthday that was on last week and this was created. Quite different from what I normally paint, but it was really fun! I will definitely paint more gems when I come back…
Will miss Melbourne, painting and blogging, but oh well, it’s time to have fun;)
Flowers are very hard to paint but I love painting them, just need more practice…
My first painting on a new sketchbook, a lot more to paint:)
Painting is such a great form of meditation for me, I feel relaxed, totally zoned out when I paint, much like a dream. I spent hours experimenting 2 different colour combinations last weekend, and this is one of my favourites.
I’m very grateful to have the skill to paint, and for this moment to share this post with you:)
