Happy New Year! Wish you all the best in the new year:)
I love hand lettering quotes!:)
I’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 2015 has been a big year for me. A very full year of working hard, trying to make more of my dreams become reality. I’m looking forward to an even busier and brighter 2016! 🙂
I can’t believe it’s been almost 4 months since my last post, I’ve been working on a lot of wedding stationery designs (Which I can’t wait to share) lately I just haven’t had time for myself. I’m trying to balance between work and life and also trying to work more efficiently so I can have time for personal projects. I hope this quote motivates and inspires you just as much as it does for me:)
Few months ago, I was asked by the talented wedding stylist Nadalie from Harper & Co to collaborate with her on a styled shoot. The brief was to capture the essence of spring “Love blooming amongst all the blossoming flowers”. I used watercolour to paint the beautiful flowers inspired by photos from Villa Parma and chose calligraphy styled titles to achieve that soft and elegant look. I had such a pleasant experience using a combination of watercolour and calligraphy, they are my favourite two things, and I’m sure I will explore more in the future.
Check out more photos from the shoot captured by the talented Kylee Yee on her site.

We often become so busy trying to build a life, that we sometimes forget how to simply just live one. This quote has been stuck in my head for sometime and now I’m trying to enjoy every moment given, following my heart completely. I hope this quote will inspire you to make the most of life!:)
I’ve started to learn calligraphy early this year. I love how a word can be displayed in such a beautiful way with certain personality and style.
I was ignorant of calligraphy because it was very new to me and I just didn’t know where to start. I thought I could simply copy other calligraphers’ works in order to learn – hoping I could somehow miraculously pick up the essence of calligraphy and create my own style. It didn’t work at all, and I needed to take a lesson to learn the basics and the structures of calligraphy. After some research, I stumbled upon Introduction to the Art of Modern Calligraphy by Molly Jacques on Skillshare. She is such an amazing calligrapher and she walks you through the basics in her lessons. It’s cheap, accessible anywhere, anytime, so I highly recommend it if you are too busy to attend workshops but want something affordable.
It took some time to get used to the pen and ink aspects of the calligraphy, but I’m so glad that I took the lessons and now I know how to do it. I still have long ways to becoming a good calligrapher, however I’m improving with every practice.
Right now, I’m obsessed with writing motivational quotes, I shall keep posting my progress and hope t0 inspire you!
